Lof’s first lighting collection, Wool Hoop, launched in 2024. Named after the Dutch word for “hope” and its circular form, it explores how New Zealand strong wool can soften architectural spaces through light, texture, and acoustics.
Its knitted honeycomb structure gently diffuses light and reduces sound, creating warmer, more grounded interiors. Developed over five years with support from MPI Sustainable Food & Fibre Futures and AGMARDT, Wool Hoop reflects a focus on adding value to New Zealand strong wool and supporting fairer outcomes for growers.
Crafted from undyed Romney wool grown at Palliser Ridge Farm in the Wairarapa, each piece reflects a connection to Aotearoa’s rural landscape and a commitment to circular design, natural materials, and local craftsmanship. Designed and assembled by hand on Waiheke Island, and made in Aotearoa New Zealand.
